Abstract: "Slow fashion is the garment production based on the principles of sustainability and advocates greater awareness of the impacts of products on workers, the community and the ecosystem, as well as encouraging transparency at all stages of the product along the supply chain and production. With the objective of identifying the characteristics of the companies aligned to the model of slow fashion production, we conducted an exploratory research, of a qualitative nature, in Brazilian garment companies aligned with this concept. The data demonstrate that the characteristics of this model are: use of organic and ecological fibers; the products are made to last; the production process is slower than the dominant model; seeks to reduce pollution throughout the production process; values traditional culture and methods of production; encourages conscious consumption; uses traditional methods of production; the workforce is preferably local, with fair remuneration."
